Smoke Stacks is an ongoing, working series exploring the imagery of power plants. It is a combination of paintings, photography and sketches. The multi media approach is reflective of the searching process. Power plants can be seen nearly everyday as we walk, drive and commute through our daily lives as a prominent part of the landscape. Though easily ignored, I want to linger a moment longer and reflect on the way our American industries are transforming, or not, into cleaner and safer forms of energy. Drawn to the bold colors and steamship design of the Capital District Energy Center in Hartford, CT the project has expanded to include other prominent smoke stacks found in urban and rural areas across New England.
